BIPM Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer (CBKT) Programme

The BIPM Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer (CBKT) Programme was launched in 2016, following the adoption of Resolution 4 of the 25th CGPM (2014), which urges:

“Member States, as well as international organizations, private organizations and foundations to maintain the provision of additional voluntary support of all kinds to support specific BIPM mission-related activities, particularly those that facilitate participation in the activities of the BIPM by those countries without well-developed metrology infrastructure.”

The aim of the BIPM CBKT Programme is to increase the effectiveness with which Member States and Associates engage in the world-wide coordinated metrological system.

Details of the BIPM CBKT Programme and of the events held within the Programme are given at the BIPM website.

Young Metrologists' Vision 2050+

As part of CIPM's process of developing a long-term vision for the international measurement system - the CIPM 2030+ Strategy, please complement this strategy with forward-looking ideas on the future opportunities and challenges of metrology over the longer term. Therefore please fill out the the questionnaire "Young Metrologists' Vision 2050+", to disseminate and promote aforementioned initiative. The aim is to gather more fresh ideas from young metrologists from the region for the future development of world metrology. Foresighting helps us to identify emerging trends and technologies, and to anticipate new challenges and opportunities. The results of this exercise will complement the CIPM Strategy 2030+.

The questionnaire can be found through the following link and is open until June 2024: https://www.bipm.org/en/committees/cb/cbkt/ym-2050. The BIPM will also organize a series of webinars until June 2024 to explain the questions of the proposed questionnaire. The webinar for COOMET will take place in February 2024 (exact date to be announced later). Active participation in the webinar is encouraged. Promising ideas will be presented at the 150th anniversary of the Metre Convention on May 20, 2025.

Please find enclosed a document containing a Russian translation of the application form. Please note that the application form must be filled out in English.
