COOMET pays great attention to cooperation in the field of measurement standards.

COOMET is one of regional metrology organizations, participating in the implementation of the Arrangement on Mutual Recognition of National Measurement Standards and Calibration and Measurement Certificates Issued by National Metrology Institutes (CIPM MRA), initiated by International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM).

A significant number of the COOMET projects are related to the preparation of information on calibration and measurement capabilities (CMC), participation in key comparisons of national measurement standards organized by CIPM, and organization of regional comparisons of measurement standards (key and supplementary) within COOMET.

Activities on preparation of CMCs and carrying out comparisons of COOMET are coordinated by the COOMET Joint Committee for Measurement Standards and COOMET TCs by types of measurements.
