04.03.2021: 30th meeting of TC 3.1 and 24th meeting of the COOMET Quality Forum
The 30th meeting of TC 3.1 “Quality Forum Technical Committee” and the 24th meeting of the COOMET Quality Forum were held on 4 March 2021 online.
10 representatives of NMIs/DIs of COOMET member countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine) took part in the TC 3.1 meeting. At the meeting COOMET auditors reported the results of the hybrid peer reviews of the quality management systems (QMS) of the NMIs of the Russian Federation: VNIIOFI, VNIIMS, VNIIM, VNIIFTRI, and also presented information about the progress with the peer review of KazStandart (Kazakhstan). Based on the results of the discussion TC 3.1 members unanimously adopted a decision to recognize the QMS of the above NMIs and to issue the COOMET Confirmations of recognition of the QMS according to ISO/IEC 17025 for VNIIMS and VNIIFTRI, according to ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 for VNIIOFI and VNIIM (the period of validity of the confirmations amounts to five years). The annual reports of COOMET NMIs/DIs for year 2020 and a draft COOMET Document “Temporary rules and procedure for peer reviews of QMS of NMIs/DIs during the Covid-19 pandemic” were also discussed at the TC 3.1 meeting.
TC 3.1 members agreed on a schedule of peer reviews of NMIs of Belarus and Ukraine in 2021 and designated auditors for those peer reviews: Nino Mikanadze for UKRMETRTESTSTANDART (Ukraine), BelGIM (Belarus) and Natalia Muravskaya for NSC “IM” (Ukraine).
The members of the Quality Forum, representing NMIs/DIs of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan China, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine took part in the Quality Forum meeting held after the TC 3.1 meeting. Quality Forum members adopted the decisions made at the TC 3.1 meeting and discussed the need to update COOMET Recommendations on peer reviews of QMS of NMIs/DIs and prospects for performing works on the peer review of the QMS of Uzbekistan.
The next TC 3.1 and Quality Forum meetings are scheduled for the last decade of May 2021.
