It is with the deepest regret that we inform you that on 15 December 2020 a wonderful person -COOMET Committee member, Counselor of the Director General of the Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology, Mr. Oktay Abbas oğlu Abbasov passed away at the age of 64.

The news of his death was a shock for everyone, who knew him well. His conscientious attitude to work, commitment, cheerfulness, energy always set an example for all of us.

Over more than 17 years of fruitful work in the field of metrology he put much effort into the development of legal metrology and measurement standard base in Azerbaijan.

We will remember him as a prominent expert, who made an outstanding contribution to the development of metrology in Azerbaijan within COOMET. We remember about his merits, for which he was awarded the medal "For Distinguished Public Service" (order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic of 21.06.2017 No 3015) and the distinguished title "Honorary Metrologist of COOMET" (resolution of the 25th COOMET Committee meeting, 27-28.05.2015).

He will forever remain in our hearts as a true friend and a wise advisor, ready to help in any situation.
