Main tasks and functions of TC 1.8

The major task of Technical Committee is to organize its activities in accordance with the following directions:

 

  • making proposals and development of work programs (COOMET) in the field of physical chemistry measurements;
  • organization and carrying out of science-oriented investigations and developments;
  • developing the programs and organization of comparisons of national standards in the fieldof gas analysis, organic and inorganic analysis, electrochemistry and bioanalysis between NMI'sof COOMET member-country, as well as carrying out the key comparisons;
  • organization of submitting materials from COOMET about calibration and measurement capabilities of NMI's for including to the database of Joint Committee of Regional MetrologyOrganizations and BIPM in accordance with "The procedure for internal review of measurementand calibration capabilities of National Metrology Institutes of COOMET and interregional expertise of institutions of other regional metrological organizations" COOMET R/GM/7: 2006;
  • organization of the international cooperation between NMIs from COOMET and NMIs fromother regional and international organizations in the field of mutual recognition of nationalmeasurement standards;
  • ensuring liaison with international organizations in the field of legal metrology (OIML, ISO,IEC, ASTM and others);
  • studying international normative documents issued by international organizations in the fieldof the legal metrology, with the aim to unify at using the terms and definitions in the field ofphysical chemical measurements;
  • carrying out the meetings of the Technical Committee and also special meetings on topicalissues of international cooperation;
  • ensuring cooperation with other structural bodies of COOMET.2.2

 

Main functions of Technical Committee are:

 

  • generalization of the activity results of the Technical Committee and Working groups,preparing annual report about general activities of Technical Committee in accordance to"COOMET Rules of Procedure";
  • submission of an annual report about activities of the Technical Committee to COOMET;
  • timely informing the members of the Technical Committee about upcoming meetings andgiving to COOMET Secretariat information about the future works of Technical Committee;
  • giving the results of cooperation activities of Technical Committee to COOMET Web-site.
