09.12.2022: 33rd meeting of TC 3.1 "Quality Forum Technical Committee" and 27th meeting of the COOMET Quality

The 33rd TC 3.1 meeting and 27th Quality Forum meeting were held on 9 December 2022 online.
12 representatives of NMIs/DIs of COOMET member countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Cuba, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan) took part in the TC 3.1 meeting.
At the meeting, the results of the peer review of KazStandard (Kazakhstan) according to ISO/IEC 17025 (following the decision to conduct a peer review with a visit to the NMI after the online peer review in 2021) and according to ISO 17034 were reported. Azer Gurbanov (Azerbaijan) was an auditor for ISO/IEC 17025, Viktoria Tomasheva (Belarus) was an auditor for ISO 17034. Based on the results of the peer review it was decided to approve the COOMET Confirmation of Recognition of the KazStandard QMS for five years (QSF – R81), and to issue a new Confirmation for ISO 17034 for 5 years.
Since the validity periods of the Confirmations of Recognition of AzMI (Azerbaijan), INIMET, CENTIS and CPHR (Cuba) according to ISO/IEC 17025 are expiring, TC 3.1 members reviewed written presentations of the mentioned NMIs/DIs. After the NMI representatives had answered follow-up questions at the meeting, it was decided that those NMIs/DIs were allowed to make oral presentations of their QMS at the COOMET Quality Forum.
The next TC 3.1 meeting is scheduled for March 2023.
The Quality Forum meeting was attended by representatives of NMIs/DIs from 12 COOMET member countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Cuba, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan).
The resolutions adopted at the TC 3.1 meeting were presented at the Quality Forum meeting.
Oral presentations of the QMS of AzMI (Azerbaijan), INIMET, CENTIS and CPHR (Cuba) according to ISO/IEC 17025 were made. After the presentations, the QF participants asked their questions and a lively discussion took place. Based on the discussion of the given presentations, Quality Forum members, having the right to vote from each COOMET country, took part in the voting and expressed their confidence in the QMS of AzMI (Azerbaijan), INIMET, CENTIS and CPHR (Cuba) according to ISO/IEC 17025.
The final resolutions of the COOMET Quality Forum:
- to allow AzMI (Azerbaijan) to undergo peer review of its QMS in 2023;
- INIMET, CENTIS and CPHR (Cuba) should continue preparations for peer review; the decision on the timeframe of the peer reviews will be made in view of the resumption of Cuban participation in the CIPM MRA implementation.
The next Quality Forum meeting is scheduled for November 2023; a meeting will also be held in the first six month of the year, if required.
