Online meeting of TC 1.11 "Time and Frequency": 29 November 2021

 

12-14.10.2021: 18th meeting of COOMET TC 1.7 "Photometry and Radiometry" and a webinar

The 18th TC 1.7  meeting took place on 12-13 October 2021 in a hybrid format (at the premises of VNIIOFI, Moscow, Russia, and online). Representatives of 10 COOMET member countries, as well as official representatives of BIPM, CCPR, CCPR WG-KC, CCPR WG-CMC, EURAMET TC-PR took part in the meeting.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting:

  • TC 1.7 activities in 2020-2021;
  • proposals on the update of the TC structure;
  • discussion of the resolutions of the Joint Committee for Measurement Standards (JCMS) in terms of development of model calibration procedures for measuring instruments and exchange views on digitalization in the field of PR;
  • implementation of the current projects of the COOMET Program of comparisons, carried out within the TC;
  • implementation of the CIPM MRA, including actions to complete the COOMET comparisons, lasting over 5 years;
  • update of the Regulation on the TC and lists of technical experts on CMC review;
  • progress in and refinement of the Plan for cooperation between COOMET and EURAMET.

Main adopted decisions:

  • to continue work on comparisons within the TC and to start 4 new projects;
  • to hold e-voting among the TC members on the issue of extending the term of office of the current TC 1.7 Chair, Anatoli Bescupschi (Moldova), for a new term, as well as on the issues of establishing two subcommittees within the TC (SC 1.7.1 "Properties of Materials" and SC 1.7.2 "Fiber Optics") and choosing their Chairs;
  • to endorse the candidacy of the TC 1.7 Deputy Chair (Nikolai Guriev, NSC "IM", Kharkov, Ukraine);
  • to prepare an updated draft Regulation on the TC and submit it for approval of the COOMET Committee in 2022;
  • to update the list of TC 1.7 technical experts on CMC review.

 

Brief information reports about activities of BIPM, CCPR, CCPR WG-KC, CCPR WG-CMC, EURAMET TC-PR were heard, which arose strong interest among the participants of the meeting.

During the meeting the participants exchanged information about the state and development of a reference base in COOMET member countries.

 

On 14 October a webinar on the introduction to KCDB 2.0 was held, at which the capabilities of the new KCDB version were reported and practical work with TC 1.7 members took place on the registration of accounts and familiarization with the procedure of intraregional and interregional CMC review.

 

The next TC meeting is scheduled for October 2022. The format of the meeting will be decided in view of the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
