19-20.11.2020: 22nd online COOMET Quality Forum meeting









The 22nd COOMET Quality Forum meeting was held online on 19-20 November 2020. 29 persons from 15 COOMET member countries – Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan- took part in the meeting.
Oral presentations on QMS and implementation of plans for the transition to a new version of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 of the following COOMET NMIs/DIs were heard:
- INIMET (Cuba);
- CENTIS (Cuba);
- CPHR (Cuba);
- BelGIM (Belarus);
- AzMI (Azerbaijan);
- DP NDI "Systema" (Ukraine);
- DP "Ivano-Frankivskstandartmetrology" (Ukraine).
After the presentations the participants asked their questions and an intensive discussion took place.
Quality Forum members, having the right to vote from each COOMET country, took part in the voting and expressed their confidence in the QMS of the above NMIs/DIs.
The final decision of the COOMET Quality Forum: INIMET (Cuba), CENTIS (Cuba), CPHR (Cuba), BelGIM (Belarus), AzMI (Azerbaijan), DP NDI "Systema" (Ukraine), DP "Ivano-Frankivskstandartmetrology" (Ukraine) successfully implemented the plan for transition to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
The above mentioned NMIs/DIs will receive COOMET Confirmations of recognition for QMS of their institutes, conforming the compliance of their QMS with the new version of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (periods of validity of the certificates remain the same).
The next Quality Forum meeting is scheduled for early March 2021 in the online format.
The 29th meeting of TC 3.1 “Quality Forum Technical Committee” was held ahead of the Quality Forum meeting (19.11.2020), where 13 persons from 14 COOMET member countries were present, i.e from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
TC 3.1 members reviewed written presentations of INIMET (Cuba), CENTIS (Cuba), CPHR (Cuba), BelGIM (Belarus), AzMI (Azerbaijan), DP NDI "Systema" (Ukraine), DP "Ivano-Frankivskstandartmetrology" (Ukraine) and decided to allow all institutes to make oral presentations at the COOMET Quality Forum.
The following decisions were also made:
- to request the designated COOMET auditors to prepare proposals on the group of technical experts to conduct peer reviews of VNIIOFI (Russia), VNIIMS (Russia), VNIIM named after D.I. Mendeleev (Russia), VNIIFTRI (Russia), KazInMetr (Kazakhstan);
- to request the auditors, in conjunction with the technical experts and with the support of TC 3.1 Secretariat to conduct before 15.02.2021 a desk review of QMS of the above NMIs/DIs (to request COOMET Secretariat to provide technical support in holding online meetings for these purposes, if required).
